"Chura-umi" (Beautiful Ocean) Aquarium, Okinawa
A Happy New Year!
I just came back from a two-week trip to Japan, including a week in Okinawa. In Okinawa, I visited various historic sites like the Peace Memorial Museum and Himeyuri Memorial. I also visited US military bases in Kadena, Futenma, the office of Ginowan City, which hosts the Futenma Air Station. The most memorable was my visit to Henoko, a small fishing town in Nago, where activists are sitting-in against the planned construction of the V-shaped runways. Some of you have probably seen my recent blog posts regarding the issue.
Here are the upcoming Peace Philosophy Salons for the winter term of 2010.

I look forward to another term of mutual learning and sharing with you.
